QCT Broadens Its Portfolio with a Cost Effective High Density Server
Server
12 Jul. 2018

SAN JOSE, July 12, 2018 -  Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), a global data center solution provider, today announced a cost effective addition to its portfolio - the QuantaPlex T42E-2U. This new 2U 4-Node system supporting the latest Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors fits users who don’t require highly flexible systems, but still want to reap the benefits of maximized productivity per square foot with a high server-node density.

The QuantaGrid T42E-2U unleashes computing performance with faster socket interconnects, 1.5x memory bandwidth and 2x peak FLOPs performance capability with the latest Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors.  This allows up to 440 vCPUs per server and 3.9x higher virtualized throughput compared to the previous generation Intel® Xeon® processor E5.  Also included in this design are flexible SSD options for both SATA and PCIe M.2 devices on each motherboard (MB) sled (see below) which can be used for OS installation.

Depending on use cases, users might have a few different configuration considerations. Therefore, QCT has provided options to populate an entire set of servers with different sku options.

Following the same serviceability options included in the entire QuantaPlex series -  tool-less dual rotor fans, modularized power distribution board (PDB) cage, and easily removable MB sleds make swapping components straightforward and quick without practically no downtime as technicians don’t need to remove the whole server chassis from the rack.
