Taoyuan, Taiwan – December 14, 2022Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT), a global data center solution provider, today held its 2022 Q.synergy Taiwan event, under the theme of “Realizing Enterprises’ Digital Transformation with 5G x AI Innovations.” With six keynotes and five global partner sessions, QCT showcased the application results of its 5G, AI, and HPC solutions around the globe, which were built on QCT’s cloud infrastructures to solve the challenges in manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, smart city, entertainment, and other verticals. QCT also brought its rack-level liquid to air cooling solution and its upcoming next-gen Intel servers to the show floor. The event attracted more than 200 partners, government officials, industrial and academic experts from worldwide.

Based on their expertise in the cloud infrastructure space, QCT has expanded its capabilities to HPC & AI workloads, as well as enabling telecoms to build end-to-end infrastructures for 5G public and private networks. In recent years, QCT has combined the transformative power of 5G and AI to offer integrated solutions that enable the digital transformation of diverse industry verticals. For example, QCT assisted the Singapore University of Technology and Development in incubating its campus 5G-based commercial applications, they also joined forces with a German partner to develop smart healthcare, logistics and manufacturing use cases, and HPC & AI platforms built in local and overseas universities and research institutes are helping those organizations reduce time-to-discovery.

To meet the demands of different industries for 5G and AI applications, QCT worked with multiple Taiwanese systems integrators to develop diversified applications, leveraging QCT OmniPOD Enterprise 5G solution and QCT POD HPC & AI Converged Platform powered by Intel Xeon Scalable processors. These applications include:

  • VR/AR operator training delivered over private 5G networks, which was co-developed with Hwacom Systems.
  • Live streamed TV programs enabled by low-latency 5G networks, which was co-developed with Taiwan Optical Platform.
  • 5G-enabled medical protective clothing wearing guides delivered via endoscopy systems, which was co-developed with Panasonic Taiwan
  • Drone applications ranging from security, campus inspection to disaster relief, which was co-developed with Hang Jian Technology.
  • HPC and AI applications from modern data centers to the smart edge, which was co-developed with Tatung System Technologies.
  • AI-supported digital pathology applications, which was co-developed with aetherAI.

The combination of 5G and AI has driven unprecedented innovations in areas spanning smart manufacturing, smart healthcare, smart cities and more, providing enterprises with the technological platforms they need for digital transformation,” said Mike Yang, President of QCT, “QCT has acknowledged the uniqueness of different industry verticals, and because of that, we collaborated with a leading ecosystem of partners to address the pain points of diverse verticals with a comprehensive technology portfolio, and the results have been deployed and verified in multiple sites around the world. In the future, QCT will not only keep promoting data-driven digital transformation, but also connect smart edge with the cloud to maximize enterprises’ digital transformation benefits.”

“Intel builds an ecosystem that champions openness, choice and trust to help developers meet their current and future challenges,” said Grace Wang, Vice President of the Sales and Marketing Group at Intel Taiwan, “Based on the five technology superpowers–compute, connectivity, cloud-to-edge infrastructure, artificial intelligence and sensing–which will deeply shape the way we experience the world, Intel will continue our long-term collaboration with QCT not only in the cloud space, but also in 5G, AI and diverse verticals to jointly build our future digital world.”

As 5G rollouts have become popular, the environment for Industry 4.0 has also matured. More and more industries start to combine the large bandwidth, wide connectivity and low latency of 5G with data processing technologies such as HPC, AI training and inference to realize a wide range of applications. In this wave of digital transformation, QCT is one of the few companies that provide both 5G and HPC & AI end-to-end solutions optimized to meet customers’ specific needs. Furthermore, with years of experience working with leading ISVs and SIs, QCT can fine-tune the infrastructures all the way from hardware to software to accelerate enterprises’ deployment and development journey, leading to better TCO and faster time-to-results.
