QCT® today announced to join a new project headed by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East Japan) to jointly facilitate the interoperability testing and use case optimization of local 5G networks in Japan.
Together with 17 communication equipment vendors based in Japan and other regions, QCT® will be engaging in interoperability testing and validation by trying to establish a stable local 5G connection from a network infrastructure built up with components from different vendors. Furthermore, QCT® and participating companies will tune the parameters of different vendors’ local 5G equipment to optimize network performance for complex communication environments, for example, high-definition real-time video communication and robot operations.
With these endeavors, QCT®, NTT East Japan, and other participating companies aim to reduce costs in local 5G network deployments and enhance local 5G network usability, thereby expanding local 5G coverage throughout Japan to help accelerate industrial digital transformation.
