Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT) and KYOCERA Mirai Envision Co., Ltd (KCME), announced a joint collaboration to accelerate enterprises’ digital transformation, with KCME serving as the distributor for the QCT OmniPOD Sub 6 Local 5G Solution in Japan.
Simply put, local 5G refers to a local area network (LAN) that uses 5G technologies to create a dedicated network with unified connectivity, optimized services, and secure communications within a specific area. It delivers high speed, low latency and other benefits promised by 5G to support next-generation applications.
QCT OmniPOD is an end-to-end local 5G solution that features enterprise-reassuring high reliability and a user-friendly management system. Its base stations can be set in both indoor and outdoor environments. Users can start their deployment with a minimum configuration and scale out as needed. QCT OmniPOD can support up to 10,240 user devices with 256 cells. Moreover, as an on-premise infrastructure with a redundant design, QCT OmniPOD can provide stable connectivity regardless of natural disasters or non-system-related issues. To validate the performance of the QCT OmniPOD Sub 6 Local 5G Solution, KCME also deployed and tested OmniPOD in their own lab and achieved excellent stability and performance results, which prompted their commitment in this collaboration.
With a rich experience of use case deployment worldwide, QCT believes this collaboration would trigger more successful cases in Japan in areas such as smart manufacturing and smart agriculture.
