QCT Launches NVLink-Enabled x86 Server for Deep Learning Applications

QCT showcases the QuantaPlex T21W-3U—an x86-based system that employs high-speed NVLink-to-GPU interconnection—and three other next-gen GPU platforms at GPU Technology Conference.

SAN JOSE, Calif. // April 4, 2016—GPU Technology Conference 2016—QCT, advanced hardware and integrated systems provider to cloud datacenters worldwide, today introduced a lineup of next-generation platforms designed specifically for artificial intelligence, business analytics and deep learning use cases.

These platforms will be on display at the GPU Technology Conference 2016, April 4-7, in San Jose at the McEnery Convention Center, Booth 1018.

  1. QuantaPlex T21W-3U :
It is the first x86 server employing high-bandwidth and energy-efficient NVLink interconnects to enable extremely fast communication between eight of the latest NVidia GPU modules (SXM2).
The NVLink technology yields data-sharing rates up to 12 times faster than conventional PCIe Gen3 interconnection protocols. The QuantaPlex T21W-3U provides an architecture supporting thousands of cores for advanced parallel computing. The product is ideally suited for a multitude of processor-intensive applications, including pattern analytics, forecasting, image-intensive processing, high-performance computing, computation research and deep learning.

  2. Rackgo X Big Sur :
Fresh off its debut at the OCP Summit, it is an Open Rack GPU-acceleration system designed for deep learning applications. Rackgo X Big Sur comprises a dual-socket Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 family and 16x memory slots. It also includes eight GPU boards at up to 300 watts that are compatible with Intel® Xeon Phi™ and nVidia’s K80/M40(new with 24GB GDDR5 memory sku)series.

Additionally, QCT will showcase its most popular rackmount server, QuantaGrid D51B-1U, refreshed with the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v4 product family. With Tesla M4 enabled, this OCP-inspired system offers the highest hyperscale throughput at optimal power consumption.

The QxVDI VMware Edition-3D also will be on display, representing pioneering QCT designs for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). The QCT QxVDI VMware Edition-3D provides a faster and more secure interactive graphic experience across devices for knowledge workers, power users and designers.

QCT experts will present a session titled, “Making Business Intelligence and Deep Learning Accessible with Cloud, OCP, and Pascal GPUs” on Day 3 (Wednesday, April 6) at 9 am in Room 210G.

“AI and machine learning are opening new frontiers in the cloud datacenter,” said Mike Yang, general manager of QCT, a platinum sponsor of the event. “QCT is making bold steps to give the industry a diversity hardware platform choices, each designed to support unique, new workloads that harness the many new machine learning technologies that are emerging.”
