The QuantaMesh Bare Metal Switch has no network OS (NOS) loaded on them. Instead they are preloaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) which allows end-users and channel partners to install their target network OS. The network OS installation is a part of the data center provisioning, similar to server provisioning. The ONIE is analogous to a Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) for switches. |
