(Taipei, Taiwan, May 26, 2009)   —   QSSC, the worldwide Enterprise IT solution provider, announced its new Tylersburg/Nehalem based rackmount servers, QSSC-S5500 series: QSSC-S5500R1U2S89 (1U), QSSC-S5500R1U2S98J (1U), and QSSC-S5500R2U2S98 (2U). This series of servers is a giant leap for IT and business capability.  It provides unsurpassed performance-per-watt and performance-per-dollar; if any enterprise wants to walk out constraints of business efficiency and growth, it is an integral part of improving its powerful IT infrastructure.

QSSC-S5500 server series is optimized for Intel® Xeon® 5500 platform. With its new features of Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, QuickPath, Intelligent Power, and Virtualization Technology, these servers boost up to 9x the performance compared to installed single-core servers and delivers as much as 2.25x more performance in a similar power envelope and dramatically reduces idle power. In addition, virtualization performance is increased by up to 2.1x, giving IT the flexibility to make more efficient use of the data center.

This series of servers supports two dual/quad core Nehalem-EP processors and up to 96 GB DDR3 memory.  It brings immediate performance scaling up and is ideal for high performance computing application and virtualization.  Optional RAID 0, 1, 10, 5 function and redundant fan/power supply increase server reliability and availability.  Onboard ME (Management Engine) allows policy-based control on power budget.  IPMI 2.0/KVMoIP with dedicated LAN support eases the server management.

“By refreshing IT infrastructure with more energy-efficient systems such as QSSC-S5500 series, you gain capacity to grow and to increase IT performance. The cost savings from energy alone will pay for new servers in about eight months.” said Mike Yang, Vice President of QSSC. “This series of servers is ideal for the small to medium businesses looking for great performance, cost and energy-efficiency, and plenty of room to grow and virtualize in the future.”
